How to Stay Motivated

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been pretty lazy lately. It’s been hard to find motivation to get stuff done.

Today I finally got back on track, and I’m starting to get everything done that I’ve been putting off for weeks.

What I have realized is, to push yourself, you need to find your “why.”

Why do you want to lose weight?

Why do you want to exercise more?

Why do you want to make more money?

Why do you want to be successful?

We all want these things, but we need to find out why we want them.

  • Do you want that summer body so you can have more self-confidence and be happy?
  • Do you want more money so you can go on vacation?

Whatever it is; you need to keep that thought in your head at all times to push yourself.

The main reason I became a blogger and an author was to help people.

I was already happy with my life and achieved my purpose, so I wanted help others find happiness as well.

But, I also wanted to become financially free so I didn’t have to work my life away at boring jobs and pay bills and just stress all the time. I wanted to have enough money as to where I could do whatever I want, whenever I wanted.

I was always skeptical about becoming rich because I see how it goes to people’s heads and they are never content because they always want more.

People believe that money=happiness.

But I can tell you that the old saying that money cannot buy happiness is very true.

Money is very helpful, but if you are using it for the wrong things and are not fulfilling a purpose, it will just cause more problems.

My plan was to become financially free so I would have all the time in the world to do what makes me happy; which is helping others find happiness.

I thought that becoming rich would buy me all that time to focus on my purpose.

But honestly, it has made me less motivated. I already have everything I need, so it is hard to push myself to do other stuff. I no longer have responsibilities so I procrastinate even more.

And no, this is me not trying to flex on everyone. I am simply telling you money is not the answer. You do not become magically happy once you acquire large amounts of money.

True happiness comes from purpose.

When I woke up this morning it took me a long time to get out of bed. I didn’t find it necessary to work on my book because I already have everything I need.

But I did some reflecting and then it hit me.

The reason I have been so unmotivated is because I forgot my Why.

I forgot why I was writing this current book. I was just focused on the money and the financial freedom. I was being selfish and that led to unhappiness.

The reason why I am writing this book is to help others. That is what makes me happy and that is my purpose.

So, to get back on track and do those things that you know you should be doing; ask yourself why you need to do them.

Find your purpose and just start grinding.
